This Cookie Policy explains how Macenta Eğitim Yayınları Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi uses cookies and similar technologies (localStorage) on Learn with Odi. It covers what they are, why we use them, and how you control them.

1. What are cookies?

Small data files placed on your device to make sites work, work more efficiently, and provide reporting. First-party cookies are set by us; third-party cookies (e.g. Google Analytics, Vimeo player) are set by others to provide analytics or video features.

2. Categories, purposes, and legal bases

• Essential — always on. Auth, security, consent storage (localStorage `cookieConsent`, 1 year), fraud prevention, load balancing. Basis: Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), KVKK m. 5/2-ç.
• Analytics / Performance — opt-in, off by default. Firebase Analytics (GA4): page views, sessions, device/browser, coarse location. Consent Mode stays denied until you opt in. Basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), KVKK m. 5/1.
• Functionality — opt-in, off by default. Video player preferences (Vimeo `vuid`, 2 years), UI personalisation, language settings. Basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), KVKK m. 5/1.

We serve no ads and use no marketing/advertising cookies.

3. Per-cookie table

• cookieConsent (first-party, localStorage, 1 year) — stores your Essential/Analytics/Functionality choices;
• firebase-auth (first-party, session) — sign-in session;
• vuid (Vimeo, 2 years, functionality opt-in) — player preferences;
• _ga, _ga_<property> (Google, 2 years, analytics opt-in only) — pseudonymous GA4 visitor/session state.

Analytics data is pseudonymous and retained ≤ 14 months; US processing under Google SCCs. See Google Privacy & Terms and our Privacy Policy.

4. Control

First visit shows a banner: Accept all / Reject non-essential / per-category preferences. Reopen anytime via “Cookie preferences” in the footer — withdrawal takes effect immediately (analytics denied). You can also use browser settings and Google's opt-out add-on.

Disabling cookies may break sign-in, saved preferences, interactive features, and video playback.
